Fandom: Nosgoth Youtube video stuff...

Are you new to the world of Nosgoth? Have no idea about the legacy left from the series of games that pre-date the world you currently see? If so - or if you're old school and just need a refreshing crash course in all things LoK - then go check out Count Eyokir’s Legacy of Kain Lore video! It's a quick guide to the series – which explains the lore of what leads up to the events of the Nosgoth game…

Want to watch a bit of epic Nosgoth gameplay footage? If so be sure to check out Woelfchen’s channel - she's a German gamer who has been a participant of Nosgoth since Alpha. If you're lucky - well unlucky - you may even catch me playing with her - or dying whilst she points and laughs...

Here are a couple of her video's to get you started...

Fandom: MCM London Comic Con May 2014

The 23-25 May 2014 – saw the MCM London Comic Con come around – and fly by at the speed of light!

I had a great time once again – meeting and making friends with some amazing people…it was a fab experience to see all the amazing cosplays and all the great things the event had to offer. I went to a couple of panels, Bones and Falling Skies which were both fantastic. Geeked out a hell of a lot at people's cosplays! I also spent a bit of money wandering around looking at all the amazing stalls the place had to offer. It was a wonderful experience I would highly recommend to anyone who appreciates, movies, games, comics, TV shows and any type of media really. The atmosphere is brilliant – and the friendliness of the people make it a great experience for all the family.

As some of you are probably well aware…ok you probably all are – I’ve been working hard over the last few months creating some cosplays for this event (one of the reasons for my lack of presence in Nosgoth)…and now has come the time to share them with you all…

Lucinvampire – she lives! I made this for a bit of a laugh – as she’s existed now since 1998 and I thought it was about time I made her a reality…

Garrett from Thief made an appearance…luckily he didn’t steal anything from me…or maybe he did and I just didn't notice...

...and here's the main project I've been working on - I present to you - Lord Kain!

And for good measure here's a couple of amusing ones...

"Damn these trousers”

“This cape is unruly”

There were a couple of other Nosgothians at the event – who made themselves some amazing costumes…

Marmite-666 as Lt Raziel and Sylvastreak as Lt Rahab…

Here's the stage performance from Marmite-666 as Lt Raziel taking part in Euro Cosplay 2014 Competitions (with Rahab assisting). Make sure you go and check it out as it's so worth seeing!

Movies: X-Men: Days of Future Past (12A), Godzilla 2014 (12A) & Solaris (DVD – 12A)

X-Men: Days of Future Past – what’s it about? Wolverine is sent back to the past to try to stop the events of the future from happening...can he change the future????

Dude this is X-Men - and it's eXcellent :D - these movies are soooooooo cool - definitely go and see this one if you liked the others - you like comics - the super-hero movies - or just because it's epic!!!! Need I say more!?! Can't really say too much without spoiling it - but hoping there will be more to come! - go forth and watch - and evolve mutant powers whilst there...

Godzilla (2014) – what’s it about? Giant ancient monster battles against some other giant monsters and humanity tries to deal with the situation – and not get squished in the process…

Giant monsters – battling giant monsters! This was a great Godzilla movie – though I agree that Godzilla really needs to go on a diet…that said – great graphics – average story – but it has one! Lots of action type stuff – destruction – nice acting – all round shineyness…just don’t think about Chewits!

Solaris – what’s it about? A psychiatrist is sent to investigate the crew of an isolated space station around Solaris…as things are a little bit weird…

Meh yeah this was really long – considering it’s quite short I felt like I was the one stuck in space…though an interesting idea for a plot – sci-fi – yeah I love sci-fi – this wasn’t that thrilling.

Monday 12 May 2014

Movies: Sabotage (15), The Core (DVD – 12A), John Carter (DVD – 12A)

Sabotage – what’s it about? A DEA squad are slowly being bumped off after they robbed drug cartel of a huge stash of cash!…

This was pretty good – typical Arnie movie – lots of guns and explosions and violence – though it is a little slow – it gets going towards the second half – with some ooohhhh niiiiccccceeeeee scenes! It’s more gory than I thought I’d be – pretty icky in parts…definitely needs its 15 rating…but it was goooooooood...

Rating: J J J

The Core – what’s it about? The core in the earth has stopped spinning and its going to destroy the entire world – can a group of scientists save the day by drilling down to the core and give it a jump start…

Ahhhh the worlds going to end!!!!!! Run for your lives!!!!! A good disaster movie – not the greatest but not the worst – its pretty cool in parts and does have its adrenaline moments…worth a looksee if you like impending death…

Rating: J J J

John Carter – what’s it about? John Carter is a civil war soldier – he’s randomly transported to Mars where he meets all manner of alien creatures – including a Princess that needs saving…

Ok truthfully when I saw this advertised years ago in the cinema I was like meh – I watched it when it came out on DVD and watched it again last night…I really wish I went to see this at the cinema – would have been great on the big screen! I really really really love this movie – don’t see why it didn’t do well – and why it was slated – it’s great – yes it has its Disney moments – Princess needing saving – slightly for the younger audience - but it’s sooooooo cool – it has aliens and airships and action…if you haven’t seen it I’d definitely recommend it!

Movies: Tarzan (PG), The Other Woman (12A), Pompeii (12A), Bad Neighbours (15) and Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God (12 – DVD)

Tarzan (PG) – what’s it about? A boy grows up in the jungle and it becomes his home – he tries to stop an evil company from obtaining a powerful asteroid that’s under the protection of the forest…

This was a good version of the story – slightly different – but you know the drill…had its moments – was definitely a leave you’re brain at the door movie. Can see this will be more enjoyable to kids than adults – but dude for a kid’s movie there was a lot about death in it!

Rating: J J O

The Other Woman (12A) – what’s it about? Cheating scumbag guy gets caught out by his wife and many girlfriends – who gang up to get revenge…

Kinda funny in parts…it was better than expected but then again I had zero expectations – definitely a girl movie…come to think of it I think all the guys there were ones that had been dragged along by their partner’s lol…so why the frell was I there??? Ah yes I was dragged along by a friend. Kinda a movie you’d imagine watching with a group of girls – whilst wearing pjs and eating ice cream. It was nothing special – occasional giggle but you know…way too girly for me…

Rating: J J O

Pompeii (12A) – what’s it about? Can a slave come gladiator save the life of his true love as Vesuvius erupts…

Even though – there is quite a bit of romance in it – and it was the underlining basis for the movie – I really did like it! Good mix of story – action – general Roman type goodness and the threat of impending death…haven’t seen a good “disaster” movie for a while – and this was a gooden…even if all I could think of was “I am Jack Bauer” – knew I shouldn’t have watched 24 the night before lol…

Rating: J J J J

Bad Neighbours (15) – what’s it about? A family get a new bunch of neighbours – turns out they’re a frat house…parties…wildness…and all hell breaks loose as they try to get rid of them!...

For the most part – over the top loudness – with lots of annoyance thrown in for good measure…it was less funny than The Other Woman – which is pretty shocking. Definitely a guy movie – a lot of it was pretty crude type humour…with a bit of slapstick thrown in.

Rating: J O

Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God (12 – DVD) – what’s it about? Based on the role-playing game – a group set out to try to stop the big bad from obtaining power and dominating the world…

This is only getting 2* cuz you know the geekness – I loved the way it was based on the game and so like a quest that you’d run with friends – basically like that with visuals rather than imagination! The thing that let it down was it was pretty slow – some bad acting – the story was pretty naff and the graphics were really really bad – a real low budget movie…
